Food Tasting at 24 Carrots

This past week I attended such a delicious tasting at the 24 Carrots HQ with one of my favorite clients: Ornella and Grant with her amazing parents - who I just adore. I can’t wait to help bring their big day to life as they are just such a wonderful family. Here’s what we tasted:

At 24 Carrots tasting, they always start off with serving 6 appetizers and depending on the package that you select with them, you pick 4. I didn’t get a photo of all of the appetizers but managed to snap a pic of the Maryland crab cake, beef tartare and this crostini. Lately, I’ve been on the boat of adding in a stationed appetizer moment to cocktail hour alongside tray passed apps just to ensure guests are able to get enough food and not have to hunt down a server during cocktail hour. This is the one regret I had at my wedding with not adding in a grazing station :(

After the appetizers, we tasted two salads: a classic Ceaser salad and a composed Arugula Salad. I’m a huge salad girly, but I make a really good homemade Ceaser that’s hard to beat. Ornella and Grant decided on the Arugula salad because the presentation was so much prettier!

Since Ornella and her family are Italian, it was only right that they add in a pasta course! We tasted two different types of pasta which brought me back to Italy. The mushroom ravioli was my favorite and the one they ended up picking.

After the pasta course, we tried 3 entrees: a filet mignon, halibut and lobster. The filet mignon was cooked PERFECTLY and was delicious. During tastings, we usually taste a hanger steak - but the filet >>> for obvious reasons of course ($$). The halibut fell a little flat for me, which was a bummer because I am a fish lover. I loved the fried artichokes they had but wish there was a textured component to the dish and also a green garnish. & absolutely no notes for the lobster, 10/10!

Thank you again 24 Carrots for such a delicious meal!
